Spend a relaxing day with Dad at the beach
Treat your dad to the ultimate Father’s Day in Miami
There are plenty of ways to celebrate Father’s Day in the Magic City. To really surprise Dad, plan a fun-filled itinerary in Miami he’s sure to love on a day designed just for him: June 18, 2017.
Get Dad on a boat
What dad doesn’t like a good boat day and some good food? Pair the two with a Father’s Day brunch cruise on the South Beach Lady. Taking place on Father’s Day, this three-level yacht will come with a buffet brunch, a cash bar, live DJs, and all the views in the world as you and your family cruise along the South Florida coast. The cruise boards at 11:30 a.m., sails from noon to 3 p.m., and departs from 1318 N. Ocean Drive. Tickets cost $79 per adult and $39 per child.
What Dad Doesn’t Like a Good Steak Dinner?
Miami has plenty of steakhouses fit for a king of any castle—or in this case, Dad. Head to Red, the Steakhouse, in trendy SoFi, for Chef Peter Vauthy’s signature steaks with nearly 20 sauces and toppings: from classic béarnaise and peppercorn sauces, to ¼ King crab, seared foie gras and even a black truffle demi-glace. The award-winning StripSteak by Michael Mina, at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach, is a contemporary steakhouse concept with a la carte cuts of steak prepared in the hotel’s onsite aging room and butcher shop. For something on the mainland, there’s nowhere better than Wolfgang’s Steakhouse. The Miami outpost of Wolfgang Zweiner’s world-renowned steakhouses, this Downtown Miami locale grills juicy steaks for two that are dry-aged onsite for 28 days.
Take Dad to the racetrack
Speed, speed and more speed. What about that will Dad not love? This Father’s Day, take Dad to the Homestead Miami Speedway and give him a shot behind the wheel. Miami Exotic Auto Racing will be onsite with some of the world’s most exotic cars, like a Ferrari F430, Lamborghini Gallardo, Ferrari GT or an Audi R8. For $249 per person, Dad can get one-on-one instruction from a professional race car driver, while you watch from the side of the track.
Spend the day outside
There are lots of ways you can celebrate Father's Day 2017 under the Miami sun. Spend the day at Crandon Park, in Key Biscayne, where you can rent kayaks, canoes and kite boards, go on EcoAdventure tours, or hangout at the beach. If Dad is a nature guy, take him to Zoo Miami to checkout the new Florida: Mission Everglades exhibit with 60 species of iconic Florida animals, like roseate spoonbills, Florida panthers, black bears, burrowing owls, gopher tortoises, bald eagles, American crocodiles, American alligators, Florida box turtles and more. For something different, The Barnacle Society is hosting a “Cars and Cigars” festival with classic cars, hand-rolled cigars, a biergarten, kids’ crafts, live music and more at The Barnacle Historic State Park. Admission to the festival costs $2 per person, but children six and under are free.
And of course, take Dad to an awesome brunch
Nothing lives up to true indulgence like a fantastic Sunday brunch. This Father’s Day, treat Dad to EDGE Steak & Bar’s weekly Sunday Brunch, which has unlimited a la carte stations of made-to-order BBQ, fresh seafood, whole roasted “Caja China” pork, bottomless mimosas, and table after table of desserts. It runs from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Sunday, and costs $75 per adult, $35 for kids 5-12, and nothing for kids under the age of 4. The Biltmore also has an iconic Sunday brunch in the courtyard with a lavish buffet that has everything from caviar, smoked salmon, shellfish and a carving station, to made-to-order omelets, pastas, sushi and more. For a sweet ending to a wonderful family celebration, brunch at The Biltmore has bottomless champagne and Bellinis, live entertainment, and an entire wall (yes, you read that right) of desserts.
